U-Kiss Kevin’s 10-year contract is off

The day of unfair contracts seems to be coming to an end judging from this latest development regarding U-Kiss member, Kevin. With regards to the unfair contract that Kevin had signed with his former agency, XING Entertainment, the courts has ruled in favour of the former.

Months earlier, a new law had been passed pertaining to celebrities which ruled that that if a contract is too long or unfair in terms of the income and the amount of work someone does, the contract will be terminated.

U-Kiss’s Kevin is supposedly one of the beneficiaries of this new ruling that was passed recently. The Seoul High Court announced, “His previous company made a 10-year contract with Kevin and now the contract has been terminated.”



The court continued, “A 10-year contract is too long. It’s wrong in the context of social order. XING Entertainment was trying to keep Kevin under them for so long and they were taking rights from him. His profit was also unfairly divided.”

His contract stated:

-If albums sold over 500,000 copies, he could get 50000000 won ($44,000).

-If single albums sold over 500,000 copies, he could get 25000000 won ($22,000).

-If albums sold over 1,000,000 copies, he could earn 100000000 won ($88,000).


Most artists in Korea do not even sell over 100,000 copies of their albums, so this was a long shot. Kevin was living under an unfair contract at the time and luckily he is out of it now. Let’s just hope he has a better one with U-Kiss’s company, NH Media.

Hello..^^ It’s been a long time everyone!

I woke up extremely early today isn’t it!? Hee hee I woke up and read YoungSaeng hyung’s message and was caught by it…

Hm.. What is this..since morning.. !! I was surprised!! Heehee So it is April Fool’s day.. hm.. ^^

I finished the concerts and spent a long time in my hometown JeonJu and returned to Seoul ^^

I also met frequently with my hometown friends~ Also went for a family trip~


However.. my eyes look like they’re shooting laser isn’t it?.. (EunAh couldn’t join because she has to attend school diligently.. T T)


Haha..^^ How is everybody?!

It is already 1st of April.. Woah~~

Time really passes fast.. Suddenly! It seems like just yesterday when we 501 had our first stage performance..

We finished our Asia Tour concerts splendidly.. It still feels like a dream..

For me to become a member of such a great team.. I still can’t believe it.. I’m proud about it..^^

And our pretties who are watching over us.. I am very thankful. We made it, we made it!!

Heehee Oh!! Because we made it during Encore concert.. Members threw me into the water with SaengIlBbang (name signifying friends jokingly hitting the person during his birthday) as an excuse..

Everyone knew it right!!?!!?!!?!?!?!?!?! I will have my revenge..

Ice.. Surrounded my body,, T T heuk heuk!! But.. Thank you for giving me a pleasant memory that I will not be able to forget for the rest of my life hee

Finished the concerts splendidly and because the tears during Encore concert can wash away all the hardship during that time

So it is good hee~

Always..^^ Thank you for bringing laughter to me. Thank you for giving me strength..

Changes In SS501 Music High

Background Info: After this season of SBS Broadcast, SS501’s Music High would officially change its name to Kim Hyung Jun’s Music High. At the same time, the PD noona who has been with Hyung Jun for a year will also be leaving. The new PD is a very experienced male DJ. He was in charge of Song Eun Ee’s and Shin Bong Sun’s [Dong Do Dong Rak] Radio show. After Dong Do Dong Rak has undergone a transformation, this PD is coming over to Music High to work with Hyung Jun. 29 March will be the new edition of Music High. Before leaving Music High, the PD noona and the scriptwriter noona both have left messages on the Music High message board.






PD Noona's Message ~






Honestly, Hyung Jun is my first DJ. Even though I have previously been involved in other broadcasts, but those are being handled by other seniors and I was there to tie up the loose ends. Moreover, for those projects, I was working with very experienced DJs. So the projects didn’t seem to be entirely mine.






But for Hyung Jun, he was truly under my influence and we grow together.






In the real sense, he is my first DJ, “My child”






A DJ who works under a PD who is not very experienced (ah, my weakness includes more than just inexperience), and under a PD who doesn’t have a good character/attitude, Hyung Jun really suffered alot.






I nagged at him frequently, yelled at him several times and even showed my temper many times.






But he still continues to work with me without any complaints. I’m really grateful towards Jun DJ! (But all these is because noona likes you, so please excuse me ok? Heh heh)






Hyung Jun is really a very kind-hearted child. He is always very cheerful and gentle. This is what I feel after working with him together for a year.






Really will not be able to find another such kind-hearted DJ and scriptwriter to work with already...






This is what happened when we were all together last Sunday night for the last broadcast:






Hyung Jun suddenly cried while saying that it was the last time working with us noonas. I smiled and said “What? He cried again~ Haha” But when I turned around, I realised that the scriptwriter noona’s eyes were red and she was crying...






It is like this almost everyday...A broadcasting room wtih two kind-hearted (emotional) people working together with a cold-blooded person .






Reading emotional posts, DJ and scriptwriter started tearing. Only this PD is unmoved... This is usually the situation. Hahaha...






Because I’m a very temperamental and narrow-minded PD, I’m very grateful towards the staff who have been working with me.






On the last broadcast day, the new PD and scriptwriters were all around. After seeing that the present scriptwriter and DJ were crying so badly, the new Mr. PD felt a little awkward before commenting, “Why cry ? Does that mean that we are the Invaders? Hehe”






The PD who is soon taking over is one of the senior PDs that I have high regards for. He is really a good PD so I can leave here with no worries.






He will definitely become Hyung Jun DJ’s good PD, good brother.






I also hope that everyone will continue to show your enthusiastic support.

Speaking of night, thank you zhane for being my listening ear last night. Frankly u really sounded like a counselor/psychologist last night. It was great talking to you. Learnt quite a few things last night.
Laugh when you want to laugh, cry when you wanna cry. Do what ever u want , be yourself and enjoy every part of it. Everyone's a critic, and there is nothing we can do abt it. 
lol.. seeing my artistic shadow in saeng and wanting to love life the mal does it.. i'll try my best to aim for that. For now, i guess everything happens for a reason and all i can do is make the best out of it.  

Update on this week's schedule.

29 mar monday : 7-11pm
30 mar tuesday: WAS free.. until my eatery called me asking me to work the 7-11pm shift. Oh well.. just as well make some extra money in case school starts and i don’t get to work anymore.

31 mar Wednesday:  6:30-10:30 ( yea! no closing to be done!! XD )

1 april Thursday: FREE!!! ( possibly going out with my friends )
2 april Friday: FREE again!!! XD
3 april Saturday: 5:30-9:30 ( Wee! going home early XD )
4 april Sunday: FREE!!!!

Hmm.. so many of the days free.. i’m starting to think i missed out something… may need to double check. Unless… i’ve already failed my server’s test and they decided to cut me some slack?! \OAO/ no!!! OMO!!! >_< *runs in corner and cries…*
